1/3 cask. Pour at GBF Winter. Near black pour, ring of tan head. Roasty aroma, notes of cocoa and coffee. Taste is roasty bitter, black coffee with some light chocolate. Dry finish.

From a 500ml bottle.
L: Black & glossy. A three-finger loose, beige head collapses slowly to a lumpy crown.
S: Coffee, albeit not very strong.
T: A thin, vaguely caramel, flavour that becomes sharp and bitter.
F: Thin body. Good, dry finish.
O: Not rich enough for me. The hop bitterness is dominant. The chocolate and coffee malt flavours are lacking. A lacklustre stout from a normally reliable brewery.
Reading the label, this is actually an oatmeal stout. In which case, the thin, sharp mouthfeel should be even more disappointing than I've rated it to be.
