Bottle: clean crisp lager, mellow refreshing hops. Malty sweetness well balanced.

Pours clear gold, small head.
Very light aroma
More in taste, slight lemony, light malts, slight mineral dryness on the finish. Light bitterness.

From a 330ml green bottle.
L: Pours a clear, light golden colour. The head is a little under-whelming and short-lived. Very little carbonation visible.
S: Lightly hoppy, clean.
T: Lemony, tart, slightly spicey. Clean and refreshing.
F: Medium body, moderate carbonation, some tack on the tongue and sides of mouth. Very nice.
O: Good quality, flavoursome, not too gassy, fresh-tasting lager. I'd drink this if it was ever available in my local. Infinitely better than the ubiquitous macros (in my local that means Moretti, Fosters & Heineken).

Half pint at the more southerly of the two 'spoons in Lancaster. A straw coloured beer with a white head which leaves some lacing. It has an unusually fresh caramel nose and starts off tasting very sweet with such a smooth feel that it seems like eating mousse. The flavour is not caramel but more generically sweet with slight earthiness. Hops ar ebarely apparent on the frist sip, but soon assert themselves,proving very pleasantly metallic. I'm not generally a big lager fan, but I could drink plenty of this.

A 330ml green glass bottle with a BB of Sept 2012. Picked up from a branch of Booths a little while back.
Hard pour into a tulip pint glass. A clear straw-yellow colour with good carbonation. Forms a large head of brilliant white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a surface layer. Aroma of light grainy malt with an intriguing lemony note and hints of stewed hops. Subtle.
Tastes of light malt with a dry finish. Faint notes of lemony aromatic hops and stewed hops. A mild, dry bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is light and tingly, though perhaps a tad watery. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter stewed hops.
Not too much to say about this one - a lager with a mild flavour. Clean and pretty decent. Shame about the green bottle. No need to seek it out, but worth trying.

This beer pours a clear medium golden colour, with one finger of foamy, bubbly off-white head, which leaves a low wash of painted lace around the glass in its wake. It smells of crackery, grainy malt, a bit of lemon, and zingy grassy hops. The taste is more crackery malt, with some further bready backbone, and warm, almost spicy, earthy, leafy hops. The carbonation is average, but not forgotten, the body medium-light in weight, and fairly smooth. It finishes off-dry, the malt providing the sweet, but almost overcome by the spicy, swarthy hops.
A commendable English tackling of the Continental style - decent flavour, teetering on a skunkiness that just never really materializes - yup, a good pseudo-German pils, all right - no schadenfreude, here, no-how.

Thanks to Jim at Sherbrooke for the sample. Comes in a 330 ml green bottle. Pours out a clear straw hue with robust carbonation and a creamy thick shock white head. Good retention.
Clean mild grain on the aroma, while the predominant character is spicy, grassy hops.
Clean mild grain up front in the flavour, along with equally mild bready malt. The show is stolen by a fine use of German style hops, floral, grassy and with an intense spicy kick. Clean finish.
Medium-bodied mouthfeel is deceptively smooth and somewhat creamy, given the large display of carbonation. Low carbonation in the actual mouthfeel.
Quite well done for an English-brewed Pils, it's a quencher more from the hop presence than any aid from the carbonation. Mild and rounded off in character otherwise. Worth checking out.
