12 oz can served cold into a shaker pint. Can stamped 20 Feb 14.
Taster's Choice is a dark brown lager with good clarity. The head is thin and short lived.
Aroma is sweet and malty like a doppelbock with just a hint of coffee.
Flavor is similar with the coffee being a subtle addition to a solid base beer. Malty sweet up front, mild bitterness from the hops, and a smooth coffee aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and perfectly carbonated. Balanced and easy to drink.
Overall an interesting take on the classic German style. Unfortunately just a one-off.

12 oz can. Pours dark ruby amber with a small off white head that quickly goes to a thin dusting that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is roasted caramel malts, wheat and some coffee with some light metallic notes.
The flavor is roasted caramel and toffee and nuts with a little stale coffee and a medium bitter finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and a little watery.
Overall, it's just OK. The coffee flavors are stale and not great and the bock base seems a bit uninspired.
