Ska has started a small batch series of beers, mostly sours, called "Mod" beers. It's not a separate brewery, just a side operation at Ska. Tart Plum Saison is the first one I've had. I'd call it an OK start to a series of beers that are quite different from the usual Ska lineup, but they don't yet have it dialed in.
Tart Plum Saison is just slightly tart, not much. It's got maybe just a little bit of plum, not much. And it's got a mild saison character, in terms of the yeastiness, but again, not too much. So it's a little underwhelming. Good start, Ska brewers, but dial it all up a notch or two.
