Very Good
Notes: A malty lager with an amber-brown color imparted by nutty, bread, toasty Munich and Vienna malts. With a clean, neutral yeast flavor–it’s all about the malt.

This beer has great body and a nice clean crisp taste. The hops and the malts are perfectly balanced. The malts are nice and toasty and the hops present a slghtly spicy note. The mouthfeel is creamy and full. Finishes clean and would pair well with any cuisine. A marvelous beer.

From a twelve ounce aluminum can, this is a copper-amber color with an off-white head. The aroma is bready, malty, and smells like an Oktoberfest. The taste is just slightly sweet, with a nice malt flavor underneath. Medium-full in body. This is very satisfying.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet toffee with toasted caramel and a nice bitterness.

Look - a mostly clear copper color with a nice light tan head - retention is good
Smell - some malt and bread and yeast - not really that aromatic
Taste - nice traditional Marzen flavor - a touch caramelly and bready - nice yeast flavors - a touch smokey towards the end it seems - good flavor
Feel - felt a bit thin to me but still a good medium body
Overall - a great american version of the oktoberfest / marzen - not my favorite or not up there with the Germans

Best before 11/29/19

Pours a lightly clouded deep copper with a dense few fingers of light beige foam; recedes slowly to a thick cap, frothy collar, and persistent layering of stringy, soapy lacing.

Aroma opens with a touch of smoky caramel malts guiding to a rich toasted bread overtone; mild herbal hops bolster the swift, concentrated malty punch.

Taste continues with slight smoke tones accentuating the malt profile, leaving brown bread crusts and a semi-sweet toasted earth profile punctured by light hops.

Mouthfeel brings a moderate-full body touched up effortlessly with medium carbonation; drying, almost airy across the mid-palate; very drying finish, with clean malts and a tinge of hop bitterness sneaking through.

With a deep, concentrated malt profile and increasingly drying body, the only giveaway to this märzen's American roots is the (very well-attenuated) hop presence sneaking through in spots; ultimately, a very enjoyable, composed Oktoberfest offering.

I was a touch disappointed with this Oktoberfest, as it is one of my most favorite styles, and I'll try anyone's version of it. This one was just too light for my taste. I like my marzens to be very malty and biscuity, and this one just wasn't quite there. I'd heard a lot of positive things about this beer when it came out last year, and as a result it was very hard to find, so I didn't get any until this year. But I just like other ones better.

A very nice light and drinkable fall beer. It has a very nice light sweet and toasty nose. Pour a gorgeous light brown and taste just like it smells. Great beer for an all day Octoberfest outing! Flavor doesn’t hang on for very long so the key is to keep it flowing or add in some thick werst to go with!

12 oz. Can
BBD: 11/27/18

Poured into a DFH glass a nice clean/clear dark golden amber color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy two-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, bready. The taste is malty, bready, some sweetness. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a tasty brew.

Look: Dark copper/burnt orange, medium tan head, subsides to thin layer, crystal clear
Smell: Orange, candy, sugar, orange/blossom/vanilla, malt
Taste: Bitter, orange peel (not just the zest), toast, earthy hops
Feel: Sharp carbonation at first, crisp, full bodied, but then gets creamy and thick - overall nice contrast
Overall: A good Oktoberfest beer! Would not hesitate to get another.

Pours a clear dark amber orange with a thick orangish off white head that recedes quickly but leaves generous lacing. Aroma is caramel malts and floral hops. Flavor follows the nose beautifully. Feel is crisp, medium body, with adequate carbonation. Overall a fine beer.

Poured into a shaker glass.

Look: Nice clear copper colored body under a thick light khaki head that recedes to a very thick film. Random crazy foam shapes from the lacing.

Aroma: Clean earthy barley and grains with sweet caramel notes.

Taste: Sweet caramel malt beginning with a bready, earthy middle and a nice touch of tanginess in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and smooth.

Overall: An excellent take on the American-style marzen, good sweet caramel presence.
