Yet another thanks to leftpaw for bringing this out, dude always gots the hookup on Colorado beers. Consumed October 2018. Bottle says: Ph 3.4, TA 10.9. It's a swing top and crown bottle, don't see those every day.
Pours a light amber color, slightly a lighter SRM than say, whiskey itself. The head is very sparse. Ultra thin, 1/10" levels of white smattering of a head. The aroma actually leads with the garnish like fruits, cherry and orange. Its not appreciably sour in the nose, the sweet whiskey notes are stronger than the sour power in the nose.
Taste, yeah, its definitely along the lines of a whiskey sour, i.e. its not very sour, its got plenty of whiskey notes going for it, plus the supplemental levels of cherry and orange. Its nice and relatively light, normally to get the taste of whiskey, you gotta go up to those double digit abv levels, but not here. The use of pilsner malt and wheat definitely keep that chill aspect of the beer, allowing more nuance and subtlety. Its one of the rare cocktail drinks that is actually good and not just for the novelty.
$13/500ml, decent price.
