Deep brown body, clear; thick and lasting head, soft and billowy. Excellent roasted grain smell with a dusting of cocoa. The flavor mirrors the smell with additional notes of light sweet chocolate and a quiet hop bitterness offsetting the sweetness. Medium mouthfeel, smooth and rich; semi-sweet overall.
I love this dark lager. It is well-crafted, balanced and clean in taste, and has a silky smooth body that makes it doubly easy to knock back.
Can dating info: BBD 06/26/2021, served at 61° F.

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. Picked up from grocery store as part of a $10 sixer mixer. BBD 05/04/2021 printed on bottom of can so this still has another 3-4 months of freshness.
Appearance - Clear but dark brown body, seen through only with a backlight. Tan 1-2 finger head with seafoam like consistency and lacing. Good stick. Decent to good retention. 5
Smell - Dull musky grass with some faint caramel malt, and even more faint coffee. About what to expect from the style, but as a welcome change none of the off tones or skinniness that often accompanies Mexican beers (maybe thanks to the fact that it's in an opaque can and not a clear bottle). Wouldn't prefer to give it a perfect score but since I grade in style, I have no choice. 4.5
Taste - Again. No off tones. Seems strange to lead with that but that's easily my first and primary thought on the matter. I'm used to this style having metallic off tones or skunkiness. Again, perfect example of the style. 4.5
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied yet watery, perhaps because of the lack of a strong hop, and only a moderate malt presence. 4.5
Drinkability - High drinkability. For the style anyway. This is as good as you're going to do if you're looking for a mexican style dark lager. The key feature being the lack of any off notes. I rate in style so even though I'm not a fan of the style, it is the best example I've had though I can imagine some room for improvement. 4.5
