A wet-hop IPA from Ska, had to give it a go.

A - Amber color with one finger of creamy, off-white head. Solid retention and leaves a good bit of nice, sticky lacing behind.

S - Some nice citrus and spicy hop aromas with a hint of pale malt in the background. Nice smelling, although a bit muted.

T - Slightly sweet, biscuity, caramel malt up front, leading into some nice, fairly bitter hop character. The hops have a citrus, floral, and slightly spicy quality to them and leave a lingering piney, herbal bitterness into the aftertaste. I like the kick and flavor of the hops in this one.

M - Medium bodied with a crisp carbonation. Refreshing and not too light.

D - A tasty and very easy to drink IPA. I like the flavors the fresh cascade hops add to this one. Another solid offering from Ska. Glad they're utilizing the hops more and more in their brews.

Catching up on some old reviews. This one came in a solid orange color, dense. Almost one inch of off white head. The nose was floral and C hoppy. Bittering hops in a dry hop world.

Taste gave off wet cut grass and vegetation. This beer quickly came off as a name shout out from a third wave ska kind of brewery that packaged a beer very similar to plenty of others but wrapped it around a marketing gimmick.

22oz bottle from West Vail Liquors in Vail, CO. Batch #17, 2010 editino. Into two New Belgium Globes.

A: Crystal clear deep copper color with a white head, hard to coax much more than about a fingers worth out of the pour, once there it faded to a film that sticks around nicely. Excellent lacing left behind as it recedes. Nice looking beer.

S: Grassy hops, some caramel malt, not much else pretty light in the nose initially. As it warms more resinous pine and citrus begin to shine, but really don't dominate like they should. Meh.

T: Soapy hop bitterness, a little bit of malt, not much sweetness though. A little bit of booziness in the flavor as well. Not a whole lot in the way of hop flavors, not much citrus but a bit. Kind of a bland bitter mess of a beer.

M: Light body, medium carbonation and very dry finish. I like the dry finish in this beer a little more than in other IPAs.

D: Fairly drinkable, by no means is it as good as other wet hop IPA's. Just seems a little bit light in the hop department. Not sure on the dating but it can't be that old as it is the 2010 version. Hmmm...I think this one might need to be reworked a bit for next year.

Served in a pint glass, pour is golden with a thick white head and really impressive lacing. Smell is malty with some fresh hop overtones. Taste is tropical fruit, some sweet malts, buttery, slight hop bitterness, a bit of alcohol in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. I am a big fan of Modus Hoperandi, and this one is equally good with more of a fresh hop flavor. Very drinkable.

22oz bottle (2010 version, #17). Pours a clear copper gold with a medium frothy white head that quickly diminishes and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is fruity, resiny hops with a little mint and some bready malts. It quickly dissipates.

The flavor is very washed out - watery resiny hops with some malt. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and very watery.

Overall, it's OK, but way too subdued and watery.

Pours a clear dark orange color from the Local Series bomber, topped off with some dirty white foam. Pretty decent fresh hop aromas here, pine, citrus, lemons and oranges. Some sweet malt balances nicely against the hops on the palate. Not my favorite, but another solid beer from this series.

Big orange vibrancy came with one finger lacing, big floral hop nose.

Taste, that wet hop spice, grassy, tree like feel to it. Seemed to rely more on the hop boil than dry hopping. Didn't evolve like one would hope, but a great deal price wise. Just wish this stuff made it West.

I thought thought the San Juan hops were excellent to say the least and this was one of the better beers out of Colorado for this pure West Coast Hop Head. It pures out a dark brown color with a moderately light head. This was just a extremely well crafted brew. I would run to the store for this one.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip.

Pours an exceptionally clear amber with a small bubbly beige head that recedes fairly slowly to a small creamy cap with some lacing dragging down the sides.

The aroma is fresh, green floral hops with an almost purfume-like character coming through. There are some sweet malts, which don't seem to meld with the hops well, and a bit of citrus as well.

The taste has a quick grassy hop bitterness up front with a generous dose of sweet caramel malts in the backbone. The finish is lightly bitter but with a much more green, raw hoppiness than a normal IPA.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and maybe a tad thin on flavor, especially in the finish.

A good IPA with an extremely green, fresh hop character overall. The malt character isn't what I'm used to in an IPA, but it's only mildly distracting.

Pours a light brown with a tan head and excellent lacing. Nose has fresh hops and creamy malts. Taste has bitter citrus and floral hops up front and through the finish balanced by bready malts. Lacks the pungency found in the nose. Medium body is well carbonated. Well balanced IPA.

22oz bomber $7. Deep orange color, almost amber, sticky head that is lacing the side of the glass with foam. It smells like freshly picked hops, grassy green, fruity. The flavor is more fresh hoppiness, a little bitter, some lemon flavors actually quite good but not over the top. Overall, this was a solid fresh hop beer but it would be nice if it were a couple dollars cheaper, I might buy more than one.

Pours a two finger lightly oranged head over a brilliant copper liquid. Smells potently hopped during the pour. To the nose pine, lemon, pith, and some esters (hearty dried apricot and oranges).

Tastes wet sweet supporting a rich and complex hop flavor profile accompanied by a respectible hop bitterness. Very nice. Hop flavors are orange, grapefruit pith, and lemon. Hop bitter is clean of most grassiness and melds well with the alcohol sting and moderate carbonation to create a spicey zip in the finish. Malt flavor is quite low, but with a bit of toasted character. Esters are light and of light pear syrup. Md body.

A complex beer that is well balanced and very drinkable. Wish I could try it on tap.
