Merry Christmas!
Poured into a Westy glass a pretty nice dark brown/black color, with some nice carbonation, with a pretty quick/fizzy tan head, which leaves a nice oil slick, which also leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, very nice bourbon/oak note, vanilla, with some licorice, definitely can smell the alcohol (ABV). The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, pretty nice bourbon/oak note, very nice vanilla sweetness, licorice. Full Body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, a very tasty complex brew, a very nice big sipper. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Definitely nice to see this one around, again. Got to be one of the highest ABV beers to date for me.
