Grupo Cervezas Alhambra, SL “Reserva IPA”
33cl brown glass bottle coded “Consumir preferentemente antes del: 23-06-24 L46 31741400”. Sampled on 01-12-23
€1,69 @ Carrefour, San Pablo, Sevilla, ES
Notes via stream of consciousness: Brewed with water, malted barley, oats, 100% Citra hops, and yeast to 6.5% ABV. It’s poured a lightly hazy deep golden/amber colored body beneath a three finger thick head of rocky white foam. I’ll have to wait for the head to settle to taste it. In the nose I’m getting sweet and bready malt, some citrus, and some resins and pine. The taste follows with a big, round, sweetish and bready malt base. The hops are citrusy with lemon, orange, and grapefruit. Additional notes of piney hop resins and peach round it out. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with plenty of hop character lingering, particularly the resinous notes. The head held up very well, exceptionally even, and it’s left some very nice lacing about the glass. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth across the palate. There are a lot of Citra beers on the market but not all of them capture the wider range of its character in the way that this does. Nicely done.

Bought at a supermarket in Algorta (Spain). 330 ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. The bottle is beautiful: dark with a flashing pale light.
-Pours amber lightly translucid colour wih decent foam head. Fades away after a while but very nice look.
-Fresh biscuit smell.
-Sweet taste.
-Leaves nice aftertaste. Freshness.
A very good one!
