This Ironhead from Flour City is a lesser kin to their Black Magic Stout, and in fact it seems nothing more really than a slightly thinner version of the stout The appearance is similar in that it is about the same deep color, and while the aroma might have just a bit more balance between the coffee, smoke and chocolate, it is hard to distinguish between the two except by mouthfeel and perhaps a touch more bitterness in the porter at the finish--must be the hops inserting themselves.

Where do you draw the line at stout or porter. In this case, a better stout as more bolder coffee aroma and roast appearance and taste. But not a smooth chocolatey porter as is often the case. Some nuttiness but not overly complex, a good one-beer stand.
