This poured a murky, dark golden orange color. Lots of head. The aroma was dominated by a coffee and spicy cinnamon hoppiness. Fortunately, the taste lived up to it, but even then it was much spicier--redolent with cloves, maybe some anise? The body was creamy, medium thickness. A good autumnal.

Eye Candy: Dark, dark, jet black swiling with hazy orange. Very mysterious and inviting. Thick, no head or lacing.

The Nose Knows: The coffee bitter of the stout overpowers the pumpkin in the beginning. As it warms, the sweetness of the pumpkin emerges to balance it out.

Tongueland: The coffee bitter is cancelled out by the sweet pumpkin. The chocolate stands out from the stout, mixing with the pumpkin. The level of sweetness and pumpkin intensity is subdued. The pumpkin takes on more of a Post Roadish pumpkin character, but it's hard to compare as most Pumpkin beers are pale pumpkin ales or pumpkin with spices, or pumpkin spices.

Bender Factor: A wonderful drunkin halloween, turkey time mix.
