Panther Ginseng Stout

This beer was a basic black with mahogany edges and was topped by a short tan head that settled into a thick collar and thin skim of bubbles. There was lots of streaky lacing and head retention was good. The aroma was mostly roasted barley, but there were notes of chocolate and herbs/hops. Quite sweet up front with bitterness eventually providing balance. Roast and burnt malts gave it a classic stout character and there was an herbal flavour that didn't quite sit right with me. A bit spicy in the finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation, creamy texture, considerable dryness. A decent enough stout, but I preferred the regular Panther.
