Very coffee-ish at the nose and palate. Scant head, solid veil of lace, and everything fully roasted. Color is black with ruby highlights at lighter depths.
I happen to know for a fact that the pint I was served was drawn from the lower depths of the keg and might perhaps have had more body if it was fresher. But Blue Collar Stout has a nice flash of powdered chocolate to the taste with a smart toffee finish. I just cant figure out why such a black beer would have a blue name.
