Clear, amber, and well bittered in a manner not far removed from Trasks ESB, this beer could easily be tagged as a special bitter if one were so inclined. It has a yeasty aroma and meaty taste, no head, and spotty lace. Its emphasis is on bittering hops at the expense of the aromatics. In this instance, such prudent imbalancing works quite well for me. Shannon is traditional in its restraint of carbonation and aroma and comes across as being downright boring a virtuous paradigm amongst all things English.
A highly dignified and worthy beer. Named for one of the owners daughters.
