Appearance This one is almost pure black in color with some light ruby highlights and a nice, retentive head that was deeply-tanned.
Smell The roasty malts are rather light at the nose. They are counter balanced by sharp, sweet bourbon.
Taste The roastiness is sharper at the taste but I wouldnt call it big. The bourbon flavors remind me of Jim Beam. They are strong and unabashed. Id say that the stout is about 50/50 with the malt and bourbon flavors.
Mouthfeel Man, is this light for an American Stout. Any stout, really. Its not even close to medium-bodied. It does have a nice, smooth mouthfeel but its just so light.
Drinkability This was a good drinker if a bit light in the ass.
