Hale's 2016 harvest fresh hop elation, made with simcoe hops. 22oz bottle served in can glass. Beer pours very pale yellow in color, with moderate white head. Great pine hop aroma. Flavor is hop-centric but not overly bitter. By PNW IPA standards this could be a dry hopped pale ale (and I wouldn't complain about it). Pine tar and citrusy pith, and while dry, it's mild enough that it actually tastes juicy. Solidly good brew.

22 oz. bottle -
Pours bright golden with a lasting creamy white head. Plenty of lacing sticks.
The smell is of fresh fruity, leafy/herbal, floral Simcoe hops with some spiced bread.
The taste is of perfume and pine/resin with a touch of a general fruity character. Pale malt gives just a kiss of sweetness.
Oily, perfumy finish. I can appreciate the understated malt backbone to allow the hops to shine, but here they seem a bit raw/a bit too oily, leaving little balance. Some alcohol shows.
It is lighter-bodied for the style. Somewhat smooth despite raw hop bite.
Simcoe hops do show. An interesting, overall decent, single-hop IPA.
