Golden body with minimal head. Good carbonation. But it's not amazingly intriguing.

Nose is very bland and standard. Yawn. Not a fan.

Taste is watery and weak, very insipid and uninspiring. Tastes like a standard bland lager. Could be the posterchild for the Aussie "Premium" lager. Mouthfeel gives it a little lift.

You can glug it down just like other swill.

Normal amber colour. Looks like beer.

Same characteristics on nose as the Crystal Wheat Beer. Honey and malty odours, not quite as pungent (As CWB) but still very clear.

Tastes okay. Fair bit of flavour to it. There is a honey hit on the palatte and it sticks around for the encore. However, comparisons aside it's not great. It's bittersweet but simple, slight fizz on the mouthfeel and taste is overall forgettable. More drinkable but not orgasmic. And while I can't say I was expecting multiple orgasms from drinking this, it would have been nice.

bintara is a new micro on the scene and if this lagers' anything to go by, theres plenty to look forward to from this brewer. their other beers are good, not as good as this one, but a solid starting point. this beer could possibly be the best lager ive ever had in this country. in fact it could be the best lager ive had full stop. it is like none ive had anywhere else.

the lager genre there are more boring beers going around than in any other group. right from the moment its poured you can tell this is on its own. pours a ripping creamy soda like color with a very nice frothy white head and fizzy carbonation. the nose is awesome. big malt aromas, hints of butterscotch, hazelnuts and lovely hoppy tones. fantastic malt flavors with traces of maple syrup, caramel and mixed nuts. great sweet taste balanced with a subtle but lingering hoppiness that brings a great drinking experience to a close. its almost like a brown or amber ale but its the crisp mouthfeel, mixed with a flavor thats full, complex but not too dominant that keeps it where it should be. ive never seen lager malt used to such wonderful effect, especially not in australia.

theres not much more can be said here except if you can get your hands on a bottle of this you are insane if you pass it up. its a fair dinkum little beauty.

note: had this again at the beer awards and it sucked. nothing like what ive described above. it was more like home brew gone wrong. dont know what happened but whatever it was its baaad
