Unpretentious and good enough for its price.

Dark red color, a very beautiful creamy and soft foam.
In the smell light malt, toasted, some hazelnut, red fruit.
Same notes in the taste, well balanced, with caramel and red fruit, not too strong, and a hint of hop in the back.
Decent aftertaste, quite full, and even a hint of cocoa along with caramel and malt.
Easily drinkable, a bit a surprise.

First drank Nov. 7, 2008. Revisited on May 2, 2010.

Appearance: Poured from the 1L plastic twistoff bottle into a glass. The beer is a dark brown that is clear when held to light. Head was tan, but fizzled out pretty quick.

Smell: Malty with a surprising creamy caramel note. Cola is also in there. Some roasted notes.

Taste: Cola-like with hints of caramel and coffee coming in every once in a while. This might not be a Euro dark lager after all. Pretty good actually for a Bulgarian lager. Syrupy sweetness, but overall pretty balanced

Mouthfeel: Pretty watery with a biting carbonation. Big contrast to the taste, and not altogether pleasant. Thin, light bodied, with some syrup filminess.

Drinkability: All around, a tasty sessionable beer.

Notes. This tastes better than the first time I had it. I don't know if it's because my palate is used to the Bulgarian beer scene, or if they reformulated it. Either way, it's a pretty nice, malty option in BG.
