Picked up in a Moscow supermarket, this brew comes in a standard brown half liter bottle with a multi-colored label with words on a banner below a coat of arms. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 29/03/05, I opened it on 12/14/04.
Pours a clear gold under a short-lived one finger white head that lingers as film and drops a few spots of lace. The nose detects sweet adjunct malt with a touch of metallic hops. The mouth is very prickly and slightly heavy in consistency. The taste is standard eastern European lager, with a very sweet fruity malt profile. There are some metallic hops in the finish, but they are very subdued. There's a dry aftertaste at the back of the throat while the rest of the mouth is bathed in sweet malt. Life is much better than this.
