It sounds like this was a one-off beer and when I had it, the rumour was that the Guildford Arms in Edinburgh had the only cask in the UK.
Black, with a thin, cola-like head. It dissipates to a very thin, lacy layer over the body. Big blast of coffee in the nose, followed by a nice roasted malt character with chocolate notes. Very low hop presence.
The taste follows suit and there's a big blast of black coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate. There is a definite bitterness.
The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, just what a stout should be. Great as a session stout, and as a dessert beer too.
