This was the beer they brewed in celebration of their 12th anniversary. Strangely, they were using the marked 11-year tap handle from last year
The beer is double hoped with Chinook & Cascade hops, but in talking to the bartender, she said it is an IPA not a double.
The beer is served in a snifter and it is dark bronze with a tight off-white head. Not much lacing.
This beer has a huge nose of hops. Lots of citrus and pine. It made my mouth water.
While tasty, the beer does not live-up to the promise made by the smell. It is big and bold with plenty of resinous taste. The malts are way in the background, but the beer does seem fairly well balanced (considering the double hoping).
The mouth has a nice oily quality that coasts your mouth. Very enjoyable, but the high alcohol content makes it a one or two glasses type of beer. Well done and the best beer of the night!
