22oz split with my father during the closing ceremonies of the winter Olympics.
Look: hazy dark brown. like burnt caramel. Little to no carbonation on the pour. Only a brief thin light brown head that stayed as a swirl to the first sip. Pretty beer for no head.
Smell: Sweet smells on the first approach, granny smith apple, toffee, caramel, dark fruits from the barrel shine through.
Taste: Dark fruits prevail, raisins, heavy raisins throughout and dominates the finish. some chocolate and toffee with caramel notes as it warmed. Delicious, but one to split with someone.
Feel: nice coating of the mouth. Smooth as expected from the pour.
Overall: great beer. I'm glad I had the chance to score a bottle. Perfect end to the Olympics.
