a nicely hopped and easy drinking golden ale here done with citra and mandarina hops, really pretty well made, one of the better beers i have had from these guys, and that it supports charity is a bonus. i havent loved the ale yeast character of a lot of their beers, but this is incredibly clean to me, odd dry, there is a little honey sweetness in the malt profile making this balanced, but there is no yeast flavor at all to me. the hops add light orange, melon, and pineapple candy characteristics to the nose and taste, and there is also a little bitterness to this, but this is a beer for everyone, a real flavorful and refreshing and well proportioned beer that brings a lot more to the table than the standard blonde or golden, it almost drinks like a session pale, even though the hops are mellow. fruity in the right moment, crisp though, and well carbonated. i had low expectations for this, being letdown by some recent beers of theirs, but this one is a banger, one i hope they keep in the regular lineup, and a nice robust take on the style. springy and good, i would crush this after some exercise, basketball or otherwise. very well done.
