This Imperial IPA stands tall and mighty at 9.5% ABV. Boasting a lighter hue with hoppy boldness, and armed with intense citrus and tropical aromatics.

From an undated stovepipe can. Clear amber color with white lacing. Honey aroma. Medium body with low carbonation. Malty with honey sweetness and a bitter piney finish. The high abv sneaks up on you

Quite handsome dark coppery orange brew with abundant foam in the Belle-Vue Gueuze glass. Here I was just critiquing the Von Ebert hazy IPA for being sweet— but this is over the top. It does deliver the alcohol, but it's more like a Manhattan than a malt liquor. Lots of bitter hops makes it somewhat drinkable to help the sugar go down. It tastes malty and fruity with that woodsy hop bitterness. A bargain for the boozehound. From the grocery store with no date, but the sugar and alcohol should keep it nicely pickled for the duration. Not to mention the drinker.

19.2 fl oz can from Brewers Haven. Light amber pour, off-white foamy head. Malty aroma, toffee, sweet. Taste is malty, nutty, toffee, leather with a gentle tingling bitterness. Tastes fades, business remains for a while.

Poured from an undated 19.2oz can into a snifter at 48 degrees.

Look- Medium amber, very hazy, cream colored sudsy head, above average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Orange, pineapple, slight pine, slightly boozy, medium strength of flavor.

Taste- Pine, bready, highly boozy, slight orange, slight pineapple, medium strength of scent.

Feel- Between thin and medium body, average, moderate bitterness, highly boozy with corresponding astringency, slightly creamy, mildly mouth warming.

Overall- Medium amber and very hazy with above average head retention and lacing. Bouquet was a pleasant mix of orange, pineapple and slight pine with medium strength. The flavor was overwhelmed with malt flavor and booze. The body trended toward the thinner end of the spectrum with an abundance of boozy astringency. Overall this beer was certainly drinkable, but way too much of a malt bomb for my palate.
