330 can from a minimart in Hanoi. Cost was around $0.50 USD or less. 5.00% ABV. "Halida."

Brief impression below:

Pils/pale malts. Overcarbonation. A blip of metallic bleed. Inoffensive and neutral, but it's not too sweet and it isn't riddled with off-flavours like many Southeast Asian beers.

Like most beers in the region, this makes for a drinkable budget option that will quell spicy food decently, but there's nothing here for the discerning drinker. Well-priced, at least.

I had "Halida Premium Lager", not "Halida Export" as the picture indicates, but there's no other Halida listed and I don't know if there's a difference.
Drank in Hanoi, did not write down the freshness date but it was within a couple of weeks from the brewery.

A - very pale, pours a billowing head w/ amazing retention

S - virtually no smell, on par for the style of pale lagers in SE Asia

T - very clean, nothing distinct

M - crisp & light-bodied w/ great carbonation

O - right on par for the style, meant to be quaffed in blazing humid heat. It appears that other reviewers had something different or perhaps expired beer- this definitely wouldn't have much shelf life

A: Pours a pale yellowcolor with a big fizzy head that fades fairly quickly to just traces of lacing.

S: Aroma is quite cleanand faint with a bit of citrus, malt sweetness and grain.

T: Taste is also on the light side with some malt sweeness, bit of citrus and grain.

F: Light body and fairly smooth.

O: Typical non-offensive Pale Lager. Probably goes best with spicy cousine.

This beer is not good and reflective of the overall lack of respect that Vietnamese brewers have for their macros. One is far better off drinking from a fresh keg of draft beer from a local beer hall. The only way to experience any pleasure from this beer is if it is ice cold and here in Vietnam that is always a fleeting experience.

Ok - must admit this was the cheapest option on a mixed 10 to keep price down overall.

Looks OK - but SO clear. Straw body - One finger head dies too quickly. Some lace.

Aromas are muted and sweet. Some mineral water on nose(!)

Taste is all corn. Not good at all, even by macro standards. And then in come the brewed pennies in the bottom of the barrel. Metal!!!!

Mouthfeel is not bad, a touch astringent. Thin.

I got what I paid for. There so so many better Asian macros as well.

Bought a can of this from Kaldi Market in Saitama, Japan. Poured into a Baird pint glass. Semi-cloudy wheat-hued bubbly beer with a thick white head. The smell was mainly rice with a bit of hops, but otherwise a bit metallic and abrasive. The taste matched the scent... ricey with a bit of metal, possibly because of the can but more likely because of the brew quality. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this beer, even though it is drinkable in a pinch. I didn't even want to finish the can, though.

Bottle: chinsy and tacky, much like anything from SE Asia. Very bright, with a quality, thick brown bottle.

Appearance: pours a fairly light straw with one-finger fluffy head, reasonable retention.

Aroma: fairly clean lager with some yeast, malt and a hint of citrus.

Taste: standard adjunct lager with a touch of corn and some malts. Pretty light flavours, to be honest.

Aftertaste: About the same, but all taste disappears rapidly. Luckily a sessional beer.

Mouth feel: standard lager - light body, medium carbonation. Suits the style.

Overall: lager wheat and metallic lagery-ness, not a bad beer really if it had a bit more in the way of flavour. If you want a standard and light-flavoured lager, this is one.

Appearance: Slightly hazy yellow brew with a foamy white head.

Smell: Touch of yeast, citrus and malt.

Taste: Slight citrus flavor to start off. Good malt flavor with apparent yeast. Clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium/Light body. Standard.

Drinkablity: Amazed in the difference from bottle to can. It was a completely different beer.

A - One finger of fluffy white head disolves quickly. Pale yellow body active with effervescence. A few traces of lacing.

S - Corn, rice and the faintest hint of yeast.

T - Distant corn and water. Extraordinarily plain.

M - Water thin, medium carbonation.

O - Not distasteful, but extremely uninteresting and featureless.

Im definately not expecting too much from this but never tried so why not and it pours a crystal clear apple cider hue which leaves a frothy two finger macro head that is gone as it appears and no lacing, the smell is basically a pub in the morning with the aromas of spilt alcohol and stagnant stale smoke mixed with kornmalt, the mouthfeel is basically water but more refreshing only just and the tastes are insipid and bland with kornmalt and rice water being most prominent and overall the only reason it got higher overall than it should of is because i can see tourists drinking this like bintang in Bali and probably just as cheap but for me some things should be left on hoilday cheers.

Pours gold with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows hay, cereal, vegetal notes. Not much going on.
Lots of sweet malt in the way of flavours, but its pretty light and one-dimensional. Some faint cereal and spicy notes show but not much else. Pretty much no bitterness.
Could use loads more carbonation to dry out that cloying finish.

This beer can be summed up into one word, "bland" or "boring" should do the trick. I try to go into every beer with high hopes of having something really great come from it but I have yet to find an Adjunct Lager that really impresses me. This beer pours out as a golden color which is decent but there is virtually no head on it at all. Mouthfeel is flat much like I suspected from the look of it. The tastes of Malts are the most pronounced in the beer. This is one I can skip if I see it on shelves somewhere for purchase.

Pours a very pale straw color with no head whatsoever. Smells slightly of yeast, and a lot like water. The taste pretty much of water as well, with a very slight nondescript hop flavor. Mouthfeel is very watery, but not fizzy at all. Overall, it's fairly drinkable, like water is. There's really no flavor to this at all, I can't even be sure it's actually beer.

Crystal clear, light straw colour with a small, creamy and longlasting white head.

Pretty much nil aroma. There is a touch of grain but that's it.

Fairly standard adjunct lager with a touch of sweetness with very mild bitterness. There is also a hint of generic hops. Not bad for what it is but not a great beer.

Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Fine.

Looks, if I was in Viet Nam I would be thoroughly enjoying this beer. It is a thirst quencher and nothing more.

clear gold small head was how it poured.
Smells like lager with a touch of urine.
Taste is absent, it hides its alcohol well though.
Mouthfeel is too thin but not too bad.
Drinkability is okay, not worth paying for here, maybe in vietnam itd be good.

Picked up at the local import store. Why, to document and record that others might not repeat.

A - A tiny amount of white lagery quickly receding head. Color is stray / hay yellow.

S - Wow just opening the can I feel like I've been transported to a gentle stream floating away from downtown Hanoi. All the sights and smells ( ESPECIALLY THE SMELLS) of this ancient city have been condensed into this can. Hard boiled egg, wet band-aid, rusty oil drum... all of your favorite smells can be found in this one small can. Malt, yeast, and hops are not-surprisingly absent.

T - Says on the can serve at 8-10 degrees C. I can believe that. If I were outside in Hanoi with 98% humidity and 40 degrees C. This might be pretty good or at least refreshing.

M - Normal. Better than water.

D - Needs to be so cold it's about to freeze. This is the kind of beer that is preferable to getting diarrhea from the tap water in a third world country. I would most certainly choose this over pond water.
