Taste: spicy bread, chewy, oak notes, smooth out in the finish. Rye bread and wood oak nose. Brown, mostly opaque, tan foamy head with some lattice. Medium/Full body. Rich and filling like a meal. 23 IBUs

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is dark amber, a little dense looking; head is light tan, very fine bubbles with a guiness like top with fine bubbles and continuous head with some lacing on the glass.
Smell is interesting: blend of light fruitiness - some light berry like flavor, then plum/grape/raisin.
Taste is also unique: blend of fruitiness (from malt and fermentation) with light berry/plum/raisin; some light roast and hints of caramel and toffee; oaking character is light but seems to have a noticeable affect on the amount of fruitiness.
Mouthfeel is soft, pleasantly carbonated, with light lingering sweetness.
Overall this a very unique, interesting brew: simple malts but light oaking and pleasant yeast make for a great dubbel interpretation.
