16oz crowler poured into a super stange glass at fridge temp 4.3% ABV 19 IBU. The beer pours barely hazy golden straw yellow with off white head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is grainy with notes of apple and pear. The taste is slightly sweet, slightly smokey malt with more fruit before a mildly bitter, ham smoke finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good. I'm a suckered for smoked beer and this is a good one.

A slightly hazy straw color with a white head, there’s a smoky brown tint to this beer, and for good reason - a bit of research reveals this is a smoked kolsch! The nose has a nice lemongrass note, and there’s a bit of smoke.
The smoke is significantly more prominent on the taste, at first almost distractingly so, but then as the palate adjusts, it complements the lemongrass flavor, which lingers for quite a while.
What an interesting beer this is. Really glad I had the opportunity to try it.

Pours a clear golden color. 1 finger white head. Retention is so/so. No lacing on the glass.
The nose is minimal. Just a faint malt hint to it.
Taste. Up front it has a sweet biscuit malt to it. On the backside it gets into my alley. I am a fan of smoked beers, and on the backside this Kolsch has a smoked beer flavor. It kicks in hard, and good. It reminds me of an Aecht Schlenkerla smoked beer, which I am a huge fan of.
The body is decent for the style. The smoke feeling does linger.
I'm not a big Kolsch fan, but the smoke really just kicks it to a whole new level for me.
