Found this as part of a build-your-own-sixer at my local grocer. No bottled on date has me a little leery. Poured right from the fridge into my pint glass.
L: Pours a clear ruddy amber, with about an inch of off-white head that sticks around for a while and leaves minimal cling. Mild visible carbonation.
S: Sweet caramel malts are the prominent notes. There's some diacetyl butterscotch present. Just a bit of herbal and earthy notes.
T: Caramel malts are present at the front--quite sweet for this style. This is followed by some buttery diacetyl notes and a very off-putting metallic flavor. The back end is a bit better, with more caramel malt and a touch of herbal/earthy hop notes which leave a bit of bitter on the palate. That metallic quality is hard to get past, though.
F: On the lighter side of medium-bodied. Crisp and clean, for the most part.
O: My review is obviously colored by the fact that I've got a bottle that is likely well-past date (judging by the fact that most of the ratings on here came from a year ago, I'd say this one is far from fresh). But based on what's there, I can't say that I would recommend this one.

This pours a clear, dark amber color with a slight foamy head. The aroma has a sweet malty scent. The taste is sweet with a mild flavor of toasted malts and oak. It does finish with a bit of a hoppy after taste but overall it is rather plain and simple when it comes to amber ales.
