The off white head sits atop the mahogany coloured Belgian style Dubbel; just beautiful. Go on. Take a picture. Aromas of spicy doughiness (Belgian yeast), raisins, plum and a touch of caramel lead you into your first sip. Sweet up front (brown sugar and light molasses) with notes of rye bread, ripe dates and cherries mid palate. Slight phenolic (pepper) notes, soft bitterness, medium-high carbonation, yet smooth and full bodied; Body Dubbel offers a taste of Belgium right here in Etobicoke.

473ml can from brewery.
Deep mahogany with moderate head. This has an off-putting tinny smell that, thankfully, does not translate to the taste. Figs, prunes, candy sugar. Thin. Enjoyable, if a bit odd.

Purchased at the brewery for around the $3.20 mark for a 473ml can. Served at 7deg C in a draught glass
A- Opens well and pours a 2" high off white head that lasts for nearly 5mins before film out. Nice medium brown colour and filtered clear
S- Metallic unfortunately..
T- Nice balance between sweet and malty. Not a great dubble, more like a variation that lacks the malt backbone and noble hop base. Missing the body and complexity that Belgium Dubbles have. .Some good spicing but just lacking the complexity I need from a dubble.
M- Watery. Very watery for a dubble.
O- Pretty good brew but lack tremendously on the complexity and blending aspects. Good try and hope they continue to develop a dubble as I will try the next variation for sure.
Food Pairing
This ok brew went well with........ Salty pretzels. Something salty brings this brew up a notch.
Enjoy
