Not too far from the hustle and bustle of the relatively cosmopolitan Yakima Washington, rests the town of Moxee. It is home to a post office, a laundromat, and one heck of a terrific Teriyaki restaurant. Also (and with significantly more relevance to this overly-wordy write up you’re reading), Moxee is the hometown of the El Dorado hop, which we feature in this here IPA.

The hazy IPA pours a milkshakey orange with some whiteness of the suspended yeast peering through. Huge aromas of mango, nectarines, lychee and strawberry abound from the glass and get those saliva glands kicking into high gear. The first sip, and each gulp thereafter, all provide flavours of tangerine and peach, with some kiwi and mango notes...

Look: Hazy pale ruddy yellow, with almost a tint of green. One finger densely bubbled white head. Head has good rentention holding a slim top cover at 5 minutes.

Smell: Mangos, tangerines, lemon and a spicy touch of pine.

Taste: Sweet and mildly juicy. More than a hint of pine and west coast flavours in this New England Style IPA. Peach and hints of lemon. A slight mineral water metallic bump on the back end.

Feel: Light to medium bodied. Plays high on the palate and at the front of the tongue. A little sharp and hoppy in the end.

This beer looks and smells pretty east coast, but the taste has a lot of west coast fusion in it. It's a solid B.

Pours a bright hazy golden orange with bit of sediment - finger and a half of white head.
Aromas of mango, pineapple, tropical hops, peach notes, and a bit of berry note.
Tastes of slightly earthy malt, big fruity character with citrus, nectarine, strawberry on the front but grapefruit pith and a bit of verdant bitterness at the back.
Smooth medium mouthfeel - the finishing green hop bitterness does build at the end without quite becoming taxing. Good version of a hazy IPA - never going to be my favourite style but decent.

Not as interesting as a lot of other GLIB offerings. Very subdued aroma and flavor. Noticeable caramel. Average looking stuff. Drinkable, but not really exciting.

Down in Moxee American IPA. 6.5% alc. 65 IBUs. By Great Lakes Brewery in Toronto.

This beer pours a hazy golden colour. The appearance is somewhat reminiscent of grapefruit juice. The beer has a thick white head that lingers and there are chunks of sediment in the beer.

The smell is subtle grapefruit that I wish was more pungent.

The flavour is grapefruit/hop.

The the mouthfeel is medium and the beer is medium bodied with a juicy finish.

Overall, this is a very decent IPA. I give it an A-

473 ml can served into a pint glass. Thanks to Mike and Pat for this. Can't decipher the canning date but appears to be late April 2019.

Appearance - Very hazy bright yellowy gold color. Two plus fingers of dense white head rest on top and stay awhile. Good lacing at the edges of the glass.

Smell - Tropical notes with a grapefruit, papaya and passionfruit combo being most prevalent. Nose isn't as big as I though it would be. Strawberry is somewhere in the background

Taste - Yummy, quite sweet approaching on fruit juice. Papaya and passionfruit lead the way with hints of orange and grapefruit in the background adding some bitterness. Overall pretty sweet and juicy tasting. Passionfruit probably the star here. Strawberries show up with lychee too after a couple of sips. Did get a strange metallic note one sip mid beer.

Mouthfeel - Smooth, juicy, carbonation is modest, this is really crushable for an IPA.

Overall - Yeah, GLB does it again, Tank Ten series puts out awesome IPA, that is easy to drink, juicy yet has just enough bitterness to keep you coming back for more.

The look, the smell...yes, they are present here. As is the smile-worthy humour of the name and its representation on the can. But this is too muted to be anything other than an average IPA. Not even sure I would qualify it as New England. But even if we conceded this label, there is simply not enough here to make the offering memorable. Great Lakes has done better and often.
Moxee is slightly more bitter than its contemporaries, which is something, but the claim of mango, nectarines, lychee, strawberry, tangerine, peach and kiwi is simply ridiculous. You would be hard pressed to find half of those fruit in here.
Not a bad beer by any means, but because so many are so much better, there is no point in placing a flag here.

Hazed orange pour with two fingers of dense off white head.
Smells of tropical fruits, pear, peach hints.
Taste follow with the tropical aspect and pear but get a little more bitterness than I prefer.
Medium bodied with good carb levels.
Overall a good beer.

Part of the Tank Ten Series.

Appearance - Pours a hazy pineapple gold with four fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - citrus and tropical hops, pineapple, peach, hint of passion fruit, citrus, orange, hint of grapefruit, bready malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - citrus and tropical hops followed by the pineapple, peach. hint of passion fruit, citrus, orange, and hint of grapefruit. The bready malts and earthy yeast finish the brew off.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes a tad sticky with the hops and fruits lingering.

Overall - A stellar New England IPA from the folks at Great Lakes. All elements are done very well and a must try if you find yourself in Etobicoke!

Got in a BIF from Coronaeus. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/27/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, mango, watermelon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an awesome NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft feel, and not aggressive. Awesome El Dorado showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balancing wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and very impressive style example.
