Appearance - Pours a rich copper with two fingers of bubbly off-white head that fades at a somewhat quicker pace.
Smell - Spicy Brett yeast, dark fruits (plum, raisin, fig), candied sugar, spicy and floral hops, bubblegum aroma.
Taste - Rich flavour from the dark fruits (particularly plum and raisin) along with the sweetness of candied sugar and the spicy yeast/hops. Leaves a sweet lingering aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium bodied with light-to-moderate carbonation. A little bit of a dry finish.
Overall - Another creative brew from the crew at Great Lakes Brewery. A part of me is surprised by the lack of ABV, as I'm used to the warming sensation often offered by this style. By holding back on the ABV, we get a chance to enjoy the dark fruit flavours and Brett spiciness.
