Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a nice brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with some raspberry notes is quite enticing. Taste is a good mix of fresh raspberry notes with hints of residual sugar notes and light chocolate notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. The raspberries bring refreshing notes to the style.

One of the beers from their 30th anniversary series.
Appearance - Pours a dark chocolate brown with ruby highlights and three fingers of frothy mocha/tan head.
Smell - Roasted malts, cocoa, raspberries, hint of coffee bean, earthy and leafy hops.
Taste - Roasted malts with hints of cocoa and coffee up front, followed by a light bitterness from the hops and a delightful tartness from the raspberries. Almost like have a black forest or chocolate-raspberry cake.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes with lingering tartness and bitterness on the palate.
Overall - I'm not always big on having stouts in the summer, but this one is a winner! The lighter body (less full) and raspberry tartness are a perfect summer accompaniment. It's clear that the raspberries are real - no artificial flavours here. Great Lakes never disappoints!
