Half pint from Volo. Poured a very dark brown, with a creamy tan head. In the dark lighting it almost looked like a stout! The aroma smells nice and fresh, with hop and caramel notes, as well as fruit. Well-balanced hops and malt in the flavour, finishing with a lingering spiciness. Medium bodied on the palate. This one is a decent beer, but not extraordinary.

Fresh on-tap at Victory Cafe. Opaque dark brown, with a bubbly mocha head. Lots of lace. Creamy with mollasses, chocolate, and stouty like roasted barley , with aroma of roasted barley, coffee substitute., On the sweet side, certainly not cloying. Mid mouthfeel, carbonation above average which seems to reflect the bar's characteristic.

A: Black with chestnut highlights, light tan head, some retention, initially some lace.
S: Bready malt; chocolate; american hop aroma (floral, fruit, spice).
T: Very bready, chocolate, nut, pine, tangerine, light spice & dark caramel. Balanced bitterness, with a pleasant hop flavour (not overly assertive), alcohol is subtle. It's very well-rounded, nothing's over-the-top.
M: Moderate to full body is really smooth; carbonation is lower than moderate.
D: A little big to session, but quite good.
Well crafted. I think this is their most impressive brew yet.
