First had: on tap at ? (possibly Pinocchio's, Media, PA)
Poured a hazy, golden yellow with a two finger head that receded rather quickly to a thin film. Hay and light citrus in the nose. Light citrus/grapefruit hops in the taste, but a strange Jolly Rancher-like sweetness took over, with an acidic/bitter taste lingering in the mouth afterward. Hmm. Light-medium mouthfeel and not incredibly drinkable. Certainly not what I'd call a "superior" IPA.

Cask on April 5, 2k9 at Volo's Ontario IPA Cask Challenge. A popular one this day, though I doubt it will win the challenge. Aroma is alcoholic and chemically, appearance is golden normal for a cask. Decent bitterness and average mouthfeel.5.8% abv and golding milennium. Chinook hops for aroma, which did not come through.

A - Hazy gold with very little head. Dare I say none?
S - Very sweet smelling. Notes of grapefruit and tangerine and some maltiness.
T - Very bitter and sweet as well. Lots of citrus/tangerine, candy and apple juice flavours.
M - Light with barely any carbonation.
D - Not undrinkable, but poorly balanced and generally not that good.

On tap at Volo, heard some people talking about it after the Toronto Beerfest, thought I'd give it a go.
Pours a clear amber, viscous looking, thick white head forms, drops to a nice ring, plenty of lace chunks on the glass, looks good. But this is where it goes wrong. Smell is weird, very fruity, bit of citrus, apples and oranges, caramel, light biscuit, nose scorching fusel alcohol, not pleasant. Taste gets worse, very sweet and thick, honey and caramel, brown sugar, tons of fusel alcohol, weird fruit apple and plastic flavour, couldn't tell if it was bitter or just the effects of the insane alcohol. Mouthfeel is unpleasant, syrupy body with low to medium carbonation, just doesn't feel right, and combined with the super heated alcohol, tough to drink. I had to drink a glass of Koenigshoeven Quad after to get the alcohol taste out of my mouth. Not sure where Great Lakes got the idea that this is an IPA. Maybe from all the other brewers here?
