Great Lakes 11th annual Hops for Hunger Food Drive in support of Daily Bread Food Bank where a dollar from the proceeds of purchasing a can will contribute to Etobicoke's neighbours at Daily Bread to fight end hunger.
Cheers to my sister-in-law for sending this over for me.
Appearance - Pours a hazy gold with two fingers of foamy white head.
Smell - eggnog, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla bean, earthy hops, roasted malts, and earthy yeast.
Taste - Starts off with the eggnog, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla bean. The brew then goes into the earthy hops, and roasted malts. The brew is finished off by the earthy yeast.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes creamy and smooth from the eggnog and lactose with all other ingredients lingering.
Overall - At first I thought this was going to be dense like eggnog normally is but this one delivers on the eggnog front and other christmas and holiday spices. This is a nice treat from one of my favourite Ontario breweries.
