Served up at Project X, which I sadly missed, but thankfully they've started a limited bottling, and Troy was kind enough to share this with me. I almost forgot to enter this one, which would have been too bad, as its a solid offering.
Pours a deep gold with a smooth white head that left some nice spots of lace. Nice appearance. Fresh, hoppy aroma, leans towards bitter green cones and pine resin. Not too much malt, and more hop-forward than the average APA, but a promising aroma nonetheless. Bracingly bitter for an Ontario beer - full of resiny, leafy green hops. Some citrus peel character, but mostly resin, with a pale malt body underneath that struggles to keep up. Medium-light body with a medium carbonation.
A touch unbalanced, but this beer will satisfy hopheads in a province that seems to define itself by its aversion to the cone.
