Poured into a Hill Farmstead wine glass.

Color is a cola brown that starts out with a half-finger of head that dies down fairly quickly. A touch of spotty lacing on the side of the glass. The nose is some light malt and bread with a bit of tar and tobacco. Light roast character as well. A touch of smoke.

There was a slight amount of smoke in the nose, but it comes out quite a bit more in the taste. There is some light leather and tobacco in the background as well. A slight metallic taste is there in the midpalate. Medium body with moderate carbonation. The finish is a bit dry. Almost a tad bit spicy as well. Interesting and not a bad brew.

At Cask Days at Great Lakes Brewery. Dark brown with fluffy tan head. Smells of spicy peppers and smoke. Flavour is dominated a bit more in the spicy chipotle than in the smoke, but both are there. Some roasted malt I think. Body is a bit thin. A very nice beer, though a bit spicier than I would have liked.

Caskdays at Great Lakes fest. Some smoke aroma, some colour that resembles a single malt scotch. White head and some lace. This lager has a medium plus feel. The first sample starts off a little smokey and then the chipolte kicks in. Second sample almost seems very hoppy as bitterness builds. Well done and integrated, no sourness of off-notes.
