On tap at Project X August 2011. What was left of the Toronto Beer festival. strong bitterness from the mix added, so much flavour at 4%, significantherabl flavour and some white pepper a la saison. Good drinkability. Served somewhat cold. Decent mouthfeel though carbonation right there. A good variation on an ESB.

Poured into a Hill Farmstead wine glass.
The color is a fairly-transparent gold with a bit of an orange-copper hue. Initial single-finger head fades down into an eighth of an inch (or, should I say third of a centimeter?) white ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. The nose is slightly spicy, carrying a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg.
The taste brings in a good dosing of herbs. There is some cinnamon and maybe a hint of sage. Some mild rosemary in there as well as a very light white pepper presence. Definite herb presence. Reminds me slightly of a gruit, though I'm thinking that this is more toward an herbed and spiced beer.
The finish is really quite dry and a bit tannic. Definitely quite a bit of an herb presence here. Slightly spicy in addition to strong herbal notes. Light body with a bit of prickly carbonation. Interesting.
