Cask pint at Arrow and Loon Ottawa for 8$
Appearance - Hazy brownish colour with an above average size fizzy/frothy off-white coloured head. There is a low amount of carbonation and there is some fantastic lacing. The head lasted for over 10 minutes.
Smell - Malts, hops, grapefruit, raspberries?
Taste & Mouth - There is a below average amount of carbonation and I can taste hops and malts mixed with grapefruit. There is also a raspberry type of fruitiness/tartness to it. It ends with a resiny/hoppy aftertaste.
Overall - Really good stuff, lots of hops and an interesting taste. I really enjoy their crazy canuck and their 666 and this beer has some of the similar flavours found in those 2 beers. I'd drink it again anytime

Beer is a dark caramel colour. A firm but small white head on top that sticks around for a really long time. Tonnes of lacing. Very nice looking.
Scent is a little weak, but nice. Citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon) with some light caramel malt.
The citrus is there strongly in the taste (mainly grapefruit). Quite bitter with a soapy taste. Caramel malts, a bit of a bready flavour. Quite tasty.
Moderate carbonation and a bit chewy, with the typically nice feel of cask beer.
Overall, quite enjoyable. If this is really a dry-hopped version of the Devil's Pale Ale it is a real improvement. Certainly very nice from the cask. I have a feeling it would not be quite as enjoyable out of a bottle. I would consider this an American IPA rather than an APA. The hops and bitterness are quite pronounced.

Cask at the Burger Bar. very hoppy aroma. Cloudy grapefruit coloured body with Caesar head. Served appropirately warm. Bold good grapefruit taste. IBU of 60 seems closer to DIPA territory. Double dry hopped. Very good cask. Another good hoppy beer from GL.

Appeared a dark brown with some chestnut highlights, with a dusty offwhite head. Larger soapy bubbles, and some good lace. Nose is quite tropical, some mango, pine and some mild caramel malt notes. Taste is quite malty for the most part, slight earth and spicy qualities yet still retaining the tropical & mango notes to a lesser degree beneath this; the malt shields these flavours to some degree. Good hop bite in the finish, smooth cask feel and a moderate bitterness lingers for some time. A reasonable pale ale with some nice dry-hopping.
