Notes taken from several 4oz samples at the Cask Days tent at Beau's Oktoberfest 2011.

Poured a hazy pencil yellow colour with a soapy white head.

Very bright and flowery (lavender/rose) aroma with a buttery tone and a generous helping of grapefruit. Quite strong, but pleasant.

Taste was light, but quite bitter. Strong caramel, grass and orange peel notes on top of the floral qualities.

Thin-bodied. Nice oily, yet creamy sensation on the tongue and a very bitter finish/aftertaste.

This would make an excellent spring seasonal. It was bursting with aroma and flavour, but remained as easy-drinking as a light lager. Would certainly try it again.

Cask pint at Beau's Oktoberfest. From notes.

A - Medium copper with a soapy one finger head a moderate set of lace with minimal retention.

S - Citrus, a little wheat, and some bready notes.

T - Citrus, grassy, and a little soapy.

M - Bitter, light carbonation, medium body.

O/D - A solid pale ale. Nice and smooth and very hoppy with lot's of citrus. Very refreshing as well.

Beer is light amber/dark golden in colour, with a nice small but stable white head.

Smell is of citrusy hops- grapefruit.

Taste is like the nose. Nice citrusy flavour (grapefruit, a bit of orange) with moderate bitterness. Bit of a soapy flavour. Finish is bitter.

Nice medium body, with a great natural mild carbonation (comes with the cask, I suppose).

Good beer. Not super exciting, but very enjoyable. Would definitely have again.

On cask at Brydens.

Hazy orange colour, 1.5 fingers of white sticky head, tons of lace left on the glass. Smell is very floral and almost overpowering, lots of dry hoppy notes, citrus, tangerine and grapefruit, some malt is there but you have to really dig past all of those floral notes. Taste is dry and hoppy, floral but not how the nose would lead you to believe, pine, lots of citrus in the finish and aftertaste, good balance, nice malt profile. light to med carbonation, slick with lots of hop oils, medium to full body. Nice and hoppy and very easy drinking, finished two pints of this quickly, nice double dry hopped take on their pale ale.
