Project X bottle from the brewery, 650ml split with Steve and Zach into some tulips. Rated at 70IBUs, single hop IPA brewed with Galaxy hops.
Poured a murky orange with some browner highlights, offwhite head with some lightly sticky lace and moderate retention. Nose has some sugary sweetness, bright citrus notes (tangerine and grapefruit come to mind) in addition to some caramel and pale malt notes. Fairly standard and nice. Taste takes more of a leafy hope flavour, but still retains some citrus notes. Some light alcohol, pale malt grains and some bready/grainy notes as well. Medium light feel, medium carbonation and a moderate bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is present more so initially, but doesn't come through in the finish. Fairly dry finish, and maintains some good drinkability. A pleasant first encounter with this hop variety!
