Beer is dark red. An almost non-existent white head on top (really just a film).
Smell is basically just Jack Daniels- hard to detect much else. I couldn't get any typical APA scents from it.
Taste is similar. Lots of Jack Daniels. Lots of wood. Some vanilla. More barrel than beer, really. There are some hops present, but they get drowned out. I almost feel like I should be reviewing the Jack Daniels, rather than the beer. A bit of caramel malt in the background. Whether you will like this beer is entirely dependent on what you think of JD.
High carbonation, full bodied. Rather oily.
Overall, the barrel effect is just way too strong on this one. It is fine, but the beer is totally overpowered. Perhaps less time would work better.
