Original review from 11-16-12, moved here.

Stated at 18 IBU and ABV of 5.5%. Poured in to tulip.

A - Medium orange; translucent. A thin layer of cream coloured head.

S - Jalapeno aroma dominates, as expected. Doesn't smell overly spicy though; very reminiscent of Mexican cooking.

T - Fairly one dimension Jalapeno profile, but that was expected. Lots of flavour without and overwhelming spicy character, which is exactly what I was hoping for. There is a light chilli kick that shows up in the finish.

M - Light to medium body. Slightly creamy. Moderate carbonation.

O - An interesting beer and fairly well made. Tough to get through a whole bomber, but glad I tried this one.

Bottle from january project X, this batch is 5.8% abv. Neutral colour with small but thick head, excellent appearance of lacing. Mild but significant pepper aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel, very good drinkability. Balanced tasty hot pepper, its there and it doesn't overwhelm you.

On tap at Great Lakes Project X-mas. Into a footed pilsner glass (or something). 38 IBUs.

Pours a reddish brown with an offwhite head; some form of a collar remains without any significant lace or retention. Nose is heavily vegetal, some green peppers predominantly. A bit of an herbal quality as well. Taste has more green pepper and spicy jalapeno notes, lightly bready and caramel malts with some toastiness. Finishes heavy on the jalapeno spicing, and burns well into the finish. Lingering grain and jalapeno notes. Some light hop bitterness in the finish as well. Too spicy and vegetal without enough going on otherwise to make this worth revisiting.
