Appearance: It has a nice jet black color to it. It has a nice thick mocha head that dies down moderately and leaves very little lacing.

Smell: The aromas definitly give out hints of Beglian yeast, spices, chocolate, coffee and dark fruit.

Taste: Like the aromas, it has a nice spiciness to it, with some chocolate and coffee notes, some dark fruit and some Belgian yeast.

Mouthfeel: It has a medium/high carbonation with a lighter body but still a nice overall balance and feel.

Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied with good flavors and aromas.

Bottle from the brewery. A few months is all I wanted to cellar this one based on experience with GL bottles, and I think it was hitting its peak. Black bodied without a substantive head. Good roast aroma. The taste is in fact better, a good IS experience, with noticeable but not imposing yeastiness.Above average mouthfeel, carbonation appropriately eased off.

Project X Bottle purchased about 2 weeks ago.
Belgian Imperial Stout. 50 IBU.
Poured in to Great Lakes snifter.

A - Poured black with one finger of bubbly light brown head that quickly receded to a ring around the glass. No lacing at all.

S - Belgian yeast, clove and spice up front. Roasted malts, chocolate and dark fruit round out the profile. Some bitterness is present as well.

T - Belgian yeast, clove and spice up front that gives way to roasted malt, dark fruit, dark roasted coffee and a touch of char. Some bitterness in the finish. The ABV is well hidden.

M - Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. A touch light at times.
