Imperial pint poured at the brewpub. Minimal head. Clear rich golden color.
Smell was floral hops (noble?). Earthy, pleasant.
Taste was crisp, right-on bitterness. I was not sure what to expect from a brewmaster who formerly worked at Victory (home of Prima Pils). Understated. Clean, "pilsner-y" pilsner. Very drinkable.
Mouthfeel was moderate in body. Mild/medium carbonation. I will seek this one out again.

Another brew enjoyed at this past weekend's Churchill Downs Infield Microbrewery Festival. Never really expecting much from Micro Lagers, I was impressed with the cleanliness and crispness of this brew. Though it is typical of good lagers, it's grain and vegetable flavors remail low, allowing a moderate malt flavor to show. Lightly hopped for a bitter balance and a refreshing grass flavor to cut the thirst. Light and mildly creamy on the toung. Refreshing and crisp in the finish. Good stuff, but it is still a Micro Lager.

I had this as part of a sampler from this brewery. The color is a light straw. There is a fleeting head that leaves a nice ring around the top of the beer. The nose is dominated by the bitterness of hops. A nice bitter hop flavor comes through immediately and stays on my tongue for a bit, what I expect from a nice pilsner. The beer is nice and crisp in my mouth with a moderately thick feel. This is a nice beer to sit down and drink a few while watching a ball game. It's worth getting a whole pint.
