I've listed this beer down under Herbed/Spiced beers, because the latest Sancerroise produce is actually a beer with 3 different grains- Malts, Oats and Lentils, which makes it a complex, flavourful brew.
The pour, unpromising is bright straw, translucid with some debris floating around, a rather viscous body with some carbonation, and a medium lasting head.
The smell, above all prominent in malt, also reflects some oat, slightly, and the lentils, even more, but there is a mixture of cereals in the nose. The taste, very complex to define in its thick texture, gives off the sweetness of malt on the tip of the tongue, and a mixture, eventually defined of soft and sweet oats to the centre and the slight sour taste of the lentils is present as well, very interesting and pleasant addition. They override the hops in general, naturally, leaving but a slight bitterness at the end. Very balanced and interesting brew, for its combination of grains.
