Bought at the Itchen Valley Brewery's stall in Andover's Farmers Market. Bottle-conditioned in a 500ml slim brown bottle, BB Apr. 09, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: dark red, tea-ish in colour, translucent, with a fluffy off-white foamy head retreating to a thin cap. Looking quite decent for a RAIB.
S: sweet caramel, pear-ish sour yeastiness and zesty citrusness come together with a bit of earthy touch of dried hops. Overall, a good level of sourness of hops sits on top of decent fragrance.
T: quite hoppy and zesty-bitter from the beginning, followed by lots of earthy and maybe tea-leafy dried hops. Very little sweetness is left on the balance, but the malt still provides a moderate backbone and body.
M&D: the carbonation is effervescent at first, with large bubbles at play but gradually softening down, while the body remains light throughout. Not very mellow for a RAIB, but overall still not a bad attempt to pack a nice cask ale in the bottle.

Pours a nice copper colour with a white head. The aroma is nutty, like almonds, with lemons, oranges, limes, pineapples and plums to name a few obvious fruits. Taste is quite bitter, with an excellent fruity compliment to make a very drinkable brew. The finish is a little sour and dry, but the fruitiness lasts long into the night.
