(Notes of 22/07/10) Tasted by a pint, served by a non-sparkler pour at the Jack Russell Fox, a JDW pub in Andover.
A: golden in colour, low carbonation, plus a creamy froth settling with lace left all round.
S: lightly fruity & grassy, plus faint notes of malts. Standard and not pronounced in any sense.
T: lightly sour come the doughy-maltiness & fruity hops; turning dry-ish, rough in terms of hop impact with a tannic tail, where pale/lager malts make a lasting impact on top of the mild undertone of Goldings-like fruitiness... more bitterness lingers in the end.
M&D: a dry-ish palate is achieved by semi-complete fermentation + bitter hopping + light presence of malts; overall it's clean on the palate, softly-carbonated, light-bodied, easily-drinkable, but not tasty enough to merit a 2nd pint - like a lager-ish ale this is...
