The Allegheny Grille

 

The Allegheny Grille located in Foxburg, PA is a wonderful place for a relaxing dining experience. The food is fantastic and service is good also. The beer selection is great with brews from Sam Adams, Dogfish, Great Lakes, Penn, Magic Hat, Blue Moon, Stoneys, Straub, Yuengling and many more. The scenery overlooking the Allegheny River Valley is just gorgeous.

This place tried it as a brewpub but gave up. In the bar area, you can see the empty room in which they brewed. It's rather a small room so they must have used an extract system. They now have a contract beer made by Penn BC in Pittsburgh. It's called Silver Fox Red Amber and it's rather bland. I recommend skipping it and trying one of their taps or a bottle of the excellent regional lager Straub, made nearby in St. Mary's PA. When I was at the Inn at Foxburg, they had Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA on tap. My wife and I both ordered it and the waiter asked us how it was. We told him it was great. He seemed surprised and said, "Most people say it's bitter". "It's supposed to be bitter!" we both said. They also had Victory Festival Lager and Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold on tap. The main reason to go though is the great view of the Allegheny river from the inside or patio tables. There is also a hotel connected to the place that has the same great view.
